Calling All Green Thumbs for TLW Summer Camp
This summer, one camp gives kids the chance to swim and play while learning how to design and install garden beds, craft with nature and take care of chickens.
Truly Living Well, the natural urban agriculture center based in Atlanta, offers a summer camp where children ages 6-14 can participate in fun, farm-related activities. Located in the Old Fourth Ward at Atlanta’s Wheat Street Garden, children who attend the Truly Living Well summer camp have a unique opportunity to connect with the land, experience the wonders of the garden and become good environmental stewards.
Children who attend the two-week, full-day session camp will also harvest fresh produce from the garden to eat in daily plant-based lunches. TLW’s professional chef, Asata Reid, ignites the imagination and entices the palate with nutritious foods. Campers can also learn about food preparation and nutrition information.
Combined with healthy eating and plenty of exercise, TLW's camp experience has far reaching benefits that help children learn to eat and live better.
Each camp session costs $375, and there are a limited number of scholarships available. For more information and to register, visit the Truly Living Well website.
